Dance Point Fitness Centre
Nature-inspired dance fitness hub
Introducing a unique blend of dance, fitness, and childcare, this state-of-the-art facility is nestled in Rotterdam's urban plan Alexanderpolder, designed by Bakema. Alongside the building, a picturesque public garden adds a touch of serenity to the surroundings. To capture the essence of nature, the building's colors draw inspiration from the vibrant hues of the flowers. A striking shade of purple, reminiscent of the adjacent park and the dance fitness center's logo, graces the exterior, serving as a metaphorical bridge.
Hedonistic design: A dance of reflection, interaction, and spectacle
The building concept revolves around the pursuit of hedonism, playfully enticing visitors with its flirtatious charm and offering an array of extras in life. Mirrored walls, reflecting metal ceilings, voids, and transparent glass elements allow people to catch glimpses of themselves and others, creating a dynamic and interactive atmosphere. Fitness and dance rooms are thoughtfully adorned with expansive windows, offering panoramic views of the park and the bustling bar area. As the energetic individuals partake in their workouts or graceful ballet routines, they become the captivating performers, providing entertainment for both the public garden-goers and the patrons enjoying a drink at the bar. Conversely, those engaging in training are treated to an enchanting vista of the park, adding a touch of natural beauty to their exercise routine.
Blending ballet, fitness, and childcare: A social nexus for modern families
Uniting dancing and fitness, this innovative space also provides a central meeting area complete with a bar and a reading table. Here, individuals can gather, socialize, and nourish their minds and bodies. To cater to the needs of parents, the bar overlooks a dedicated toddler playroom, where little ones can safely enjoy their playtime under the watchful eye of a bartender. This unique offering allows parents to engage in their fitness routines, secure in the knowledge that their children are being supervised and entertained nearby.
